University of North Florida To Host 2017 Florida High School Girls Volleyball State Championships

2017 FHSAA VB FinalsGAINESVILLE, FL (9/28/17) – The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) and the University of North Florida have entered into an agreement to host the 2017 FHSAA Girls Volleyball State Championships Nov. 16-18 at UNF Arena in Jacksonville.

This is the first time Northeast Florida will have hosted the event since the FHSAA placed all volleyball state championship matches in the same location in 1990.

“We are thrilled to have our volleyball championships take place in a venue worthy of a state championship,” FHSAA Executive Director George Tomyn said. “Our student-athletes, coaches and fans deserve the absolute best experience possible, and we are certain our partnership with UNF will provide just that.”

The FHSAA girls volleyball state tournament will continue its finals-only format, with the 3A-5A championship matches taking place Thursday, Nov. 16. Classes 1A and 2A will follow on Friday, Nov. 17, before Saturday closes out the volleyball season with Classes 6A-9A.

All championship games will be broadcast live on Spectrum Sports and streamed live at www.floridagames.myspectrumsports.com.
