The event will mark the first time the city has hosted the event for either gender.

“We are excited to bring the best high school soccer in America to DeLand,” FHSAA Executive Director Dr. Roger Dearing said. “We are looking forward to partnering with the City of DeLand Parks and Recreation Department to give our student-athletes, fans and coaches a memorable championship experience.”

The event will feature 10 state championship matches only. A detailed schedule for both boys and girls matches will be announced in late January. General admission tickets will also go on sale then at FHSAA.org for $9 each.

The 6,000-seat historic stadium was renovated less than four years ago, receiving new locker room facilities, premium seating and a renovated press box. It is currently the home of the Stetson University football team.
