Sonic Drive-In-Player-of-the-Game for Jan. 11 – Antrell Charlton (The Rock)

Sonic-logoOur Sonic Drive-In-Player-of-the-Game for Thursday, Jan. 11, is Antrell Charlton of The Rock (Gainesville) boys’ basketball team.

Charlton helped lead the Lions to an 86-50 win against Potter’s House Christian (Jacksonville) in an SIAA game.  With the win, The Rock (14-6) improved to  3-0 in north games and 6-0 overall.Antrell Charlton_The Rock POG

The senior just missed a double-double, finishing with a team-high 18 points and nine rebounds.  He also added five assists and two steals.

His long wingspan was able to fend off the visiting Lions, contributing to The Rock’s 36-point rout.  He hit two shots behind the arc and also had two alley-oops.

Charlton is the second player from the Rock this week to be named The Prep Zone’s Sonic Player of the Game.  Junior Trey McCray took the award on Tuesday.

Up next, The Rock will travel to Oldsmar Christian on Friday night.
