Sonic Drive-In-Player-of-the-Game for Jan. 9 – Trey McCray (The Rock)

Sonic-logoOur Sonic Drive-In-Player-of-the-Game for Tuesday, Jan. 9 is Trey McCray of The Rock (Gainesville) boys basketball team.

McCray scored 19 points, including four three-pointers as The Rock defeated Arlington Country Day (Jacksonville) 77-66 in a SIAA conference game on Tuesday night.

McCray scored seven points and his defense led to three steals in a 15-2 run for The Rock early in the second half that extended their lead to 56-40, and ACD (6-11) was no closer than five points after that. McCray also hit another big three to help extend the Lions lead back to double digits after the Apaches had pulled to within five points.

Bryan Greenlee also scored 19 points and Jaden Campbell chipped in 15 as The Rock improved to 13-6. The Lions knocked down 12 shots behind the arc in the game (12-of-24), with eight of those coming in the first half.

The Rock will be back in action on Thursday night against Potter’s House (Jacksonville) with tip set for 7 PM.  You can watch the game online at ThePrepZone.com.
