- May 13 is Jonathan Ward of the Trenton baseball team. In their first state semifinal baseball game in school history, Ward pitched a complete game against Holmes County (Bonifay) as the junior gave up just five hits and allowed only one run in a 4-1 win over the Blue Devils. Ward (9-0) threw 52 of his 86 pitches for strikes. At the plate, he went 2-for-2 and a run scored. Ward added a triple in the Tigers’ (27-1) win over Chiefland for the Class 1A state title.
