The Celtics (3-7) won their 8th straight district title and 29th consecutive district game in the regular season finale at Trinity Prep (Winter Park) to wrap up the 3A-District 3 title. Trinity Catholic, which lost starting QB Ryan Miller for the season four weeks ago, has won 11 straight playoff openers since a 2003 loss to North Florida Christian (Tallahassee).
The visiting Vikings (9-1) were runners-up behind Tampa Catholic in 3A-District 4. They have posted three shutouts on the season and are giving up just 12.1 points per game. Lakeland Christian, which is coached by former Gator QB Wayne Peace, is currently ranked 4th in the Class 3A state poll.
