Saint Francis Catholic Baseball Season Preview

Published:

By Sophia Riedi

The Saint Francis Catholic Academy Baseball team returns only two starters in a team that Coach Daniel Bell calls “exceptionally young.”

With 12 players that are freshman or sophomores, Coach Bell said, “we expect a little bit of inconsistency; however, we feel really good about the potential of this group.”

Returning starters include senior Trevor Spencer (.400 AVG, 4 H) and junior Zac Cetin (.636 AVG, 7 H) who have been leaders on the Wolves’ offense this season.

Another player to watch is sophomore catcher Mason Bell, a transfer from Santa Fe High School, who Coach Bell says, “has been solid behind the plate for us.”

The Wolves start this season with a 1-4 record. Their win comes from a 7-0 triumph over Oak Hall on February 26.

Key games to look out for this season include the away game vs. Oak Hall on March 17 and the home game against Redeemer Christian on April 20.
