With the evolution of modern sports recruiting, every athlete’s online presence is vital.
To help advance student-athlete recruitment, “R.A.W.E. Recruits: Reaching Athletes With Education” of Gainesville, Fla., has announced a free recruiting workshop that will cover aspects of online recruiting: including social media, websites, email and SAT/ACT resources.
The event, called “Become R.A.W.E.: ONLINE!,” is being held on August 11, 2018 at 10 AM. It takes place on the 4th floor of Alachua County Library District Headquarters, the address is 401 E. University Ave., Gainesville, Fla.
Attendees of the event will build their very own customizable recruiting website and take part of a professional photo opportunity. Student-Athletes are required to bring a laptop to the event.
Food will be provided after the workshop ends.
While student-athletes are instructed on how to build their website, Jerome Reed, R.A.W.E. co-founder, will address parents and coaches attending the event. He will speak about what athletes have to look forward to for the coming season, address educational concerns, and provide parents and coaches with a list of free SAT/ACT resources and tests to give to their students.
This free event will be extremely beneficial for both student-athletes and parents alike, teaching them how to advance in the modern recruiting process.
Co-founder Jerome Reed said that this event is “an opportunity to show our student-athletes that there’s so much more to this process than just ‘playing ball’. We want coaches and scouts to look at this younger generation as if they’re capable of greater things beyond the playing-surface. Comporting themselves in a positive way on the Web can help influence that.”
“We have an awesome opportunity not only bring the city’s student-athletes to the limelight, but to also inspire, to educate, and to uplift. We’re excited about what their future can hold.”
