Oviedo’s Savannah Vach Named 2018 Florida Dairy Farmers Miss Volleyball

Sports-Award-Logo_Color_Florida Dairy FarmerGAINESVILLE (Dec. 6) – Senior setter Savannah Vach of Oviedo High School has been named the 2018 Florida Dairy Farmers Miss Volleyball following a final round of voting by a statewide panel of high school volleyball coaches and media representatives.

Vach, who led her squad to the 2018 Class 9A state title, posted 417 kills, 347 digs and 515 assists with a .414 hitting percentage. The first team Under Armour All-American recorded 15 kills, 13 digs, two aces and a .565 hitting percentage in the state title-match win over Palm Beach Gardens.

She has signed to play college volleyball at the University of Miami.

After earlier being named Class 9A Player-of-the-Year, Vach garnered 11 of the 19 first-place votes to finish with 127 points in claiming this year’s award.

Annie Cate Fitzpatrick of Trinity Catholic, was the runner-up with 63 points, followed in order by Lexy Denaburg of Merritt Island (51), Makayla Washington of Leon (46), Essence Bell of Vanguard (32) and Elli McKissock of The First Academy (21).

The Florida Dairy Farmers High School Sports Awards program exemplifies Florida Dairy Farmers’ commitment to the state’s youth. This marks the 27th year of these unique awards as we honor the state’s top athletes and coaches in all 30 FHSAA sanctioned and recognized sports. The program also emphasizes to young people the importance of keeping dairy products a primary part of their diet in their overall nutrition plan.

8A – Makayla Washington, Senior, Middle Hitter, Leon (Tallahassee)
Washington led her team to the Class 8A Final Four with 346 kills, 140 digs, 96 blocks, 21 aces and a .384 hitting percentage. She has signed with the University of South Florida.

7A – Essence Bell, Senior, Libero, Vanguard (Ocala)
Bell led her team to the Class 7A state title with 553 digs, 33 aces and 528 service receptions.

6A – Lexy Denaburg, Senior, Outside Hitter, Merritt Island
Denaburg posted 424 kills (5.9 per set) with a .385 hitting percentage, and added 198 digs and 32 aces in leading her team to the Class 6A state title. She has signed to play beach volleyball with UCLA.

5A – Annie Cate Fitzpatrick, Junior, Outside Hitter, Trinity Catholic (Ocala)
Fitzpatrick led her team to the Class 5A state title with 502 kills (5.7 per set), 230 digs, 49 blocks and 66 aces with a .311 hitting percentage. She has committed to Penn State.

4A – Addyson Lewis, Senior, Libero/Defensive Specialist, Maclay (Tallahassee)
The Jacksonville University signee had 611 digs, 519 service receptions with only 30 errors and 34 aces.

3A – Audrey Koenig, Sophomore, Outside Hitter, Bishop McLaughlin (Spring Hill)
Koenig led her squad to a 30-1 record and a Class 3A state runner-up finish with 323 kills, 36 solo blocks, 158 digs and 40 aces with a .378 hitting percentage.

2A – Rebekah Wilcox, Senior, Outside Hitter/Middle Blocker, Harvest Community School (Jacksonville)
Wilcox led her team to the Class 2A state final with 360 kills, 85 digs, 40 aces, 36 blocks and a .415 hitting percentage. She has signed with Montreat (NC) College.

1A – Emma Richards, Senior, Middle Hitter, Blountstown
Richards led her team to the Class 1A Final Four with 445 kills, 35 aces, 44 blocks, a .464 hitting percentage and a .545 kill percentage. She has signed with Gulf Coast State College.
