2015 PREVIEW: Following a 16-0 loss to Port St. Joe in the Class 1A state championship game, the Trojans will look to get back to Orlando under a new head coach. Blair Armstrong announced his retirement in the spring after coaching for 36 seasons. Seth Stebbins, who was the former line and running backs coach at Suwannee (Live Oak), is looking “to try and build on what Coach Armstrong started.”
However, the district also gets a little tougher as Madison County drops down from 4A. District 5-1A will also include Bell, Jefferson County (Monticello) and Lafayette (Mayo). Hamilton County will get Lafayette and Bell at home but they travel to Boot Hill to face Madison County on October the 9th, followed by a trip to Monticello to face Jefferson County.
The Trojans, who only had 125 yards in the state championship game, will have their work cut out for them. They lost 17 seniors from last year’s state runner-up team. Malik Randolph (667 yards rushing and 6 TD’s) will be one of the key returnees on offense while Travion Weary (11.5 TFL) will be one of the leaders on defense.
