Gainesville, winners of four in a row and eight of their last night, is currently in second place in the district. Vanguard is currently in third place in the 4-team district.
The visiting Hurricanes (13-4 overall & 3-1 in the district) are two games behind Columbia (Lake City), who they split with. GHS, which is coming off a 15-5 win against 8A Buchholz (Gainesville), will host Vanguard (8-7, 2-2 in 7A-District 3) on Friday in the district finale.
If the Purple Hurricanes sweep the Knights then a coin toss will be used to determine the No. 1 seed. The top seed in the district will host the district tournament the first week of May.
