2014 RECORD: 4-6

HEAD COACH: Aaron Richardson (4th Year)

KEY PLAYERS: Billy Hammond (Sr., LB), Vanden Fehmerling (Sr., TE/DE/DT), Jarquez Williams (Sr., RB/FS), Levi Murray (Sr., RB/OLB), Eric Grant, Jr. (Sr., CB/FS), Zach Barker (Sr., WR/CB)

2015 PREVIEW: Chiefland finished below .500 for the first time under Richardson as injuries and a tough schedule contributed to a 4-6 record in 2014. The Indians only won only one district game (Williston) and they gave up over 30 points four times. They were outscored 88-19 by Union County (Lake Butler) and Dixie County (Cross City) in their final two district games of the season.

Despite the struggles, there is reason for optimism in 2015. The Indians hope to get a boost with the return of some key players from the previous season.

Running back Jarquez Williams, who led the team with 1,028 yards rushing, and Levi Murray, who averaged 5.9 yards per carry as a junior, give the Indians a good 1-2 punch in the backfield. The pair combined for 14 rushing TD’s, while Williams added another three through the air.

Senior linebacker Billy Hammond will be one of the key returnees on defense. Last year, he led the team in tackles (110) and TFL (13), while senior Zach Barker tied for the team lead with two interceptions. The 7-team District 7 schedule will be challenging with Dixie County, Trenton and Newberry.
