Bronson_EaglesBRONSON EAGLES (1A-District 7)

2014 RECORD: 6-4

HEAD COACH: Cameron Porch (4th Year)

KEY PLAYERS: Garry Mitchell (Jr., LB/FB), Julius Smith (Jr., WR/FS), Brandon Partain (Jr., LB/FB), Caleb Chemin (So., QB/FS), Ryan Ranalli (Sr, RB/FS)

2015 PREVIEW: The Eagles posted their first winning season in over 10 years (6-4), but a home loss to Hilliard kept them out of playoffs. They are seeking their first appearance since 2002.

Bronson averaged 313.9 yards per game rushing last season. They were led by sophomores Montrez Jackson (first team all-area who ran for 1,380 yards on 112 carries, 12.3 avg. per run, and 11 TDs) and Garry Mitchell (670 yards, 11 TDs).  However, Jackson transferred to Trenton In February.  He was one of three starters to transfer out.

The Eagles will be young and inexperienced this season. With only two offensive starters returning and four defensive starters back, Bronson will need to play together, stay healthy, and believe, according to Porch, “then we have a shot to be pretty good.”

“We are in the toughest district in the state (with Dixie County & Trenton) and need to jell in a hurry in order to be successful.”

Defensively, the Eagles have some holes to fill in 2015. Mitchell (61 tackles) and Partain (53 tackles, 5 sacks) will be the key returnees on defense.
