Our Sonic Player-of-the-game for Tuesday, January 10, is Isaiah Wilson of the Gainesville boys’ basketball team.
Wilson scored 26 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter, as GHS defeated P.K. Yonge, 75-62, in a city showdown at P.K. Yonge. Class 7A Gainesville (13-2) turned a close game into a 13-point road win to sweep the season series, 2-0.
The Class 4A Blue Wave made a comeback late in the 3rd quarter and throughout the 4th quarter, but Wilson knocked down 10 free throws in the game to help lead the ‘Canes, ranked third in The Prep Zone Power Poll, their fifth straight victory.
