On Wednesday, rising senior Jacob Guthrie of Trenton High School signed his letter of intent to play baseball for Santa Fe College.
The 2019 Santa Fe College baseball team won 38 games and advanced to the FCSAA state championship (final eight teams) for the fifth straight year. They were 19-6 when COVID-19 canceled the remainder of the 2020 season.
“It means a lot to be able to sign with Santa Fe and stay close to home,” Guthrie said. “Santa Fe has a great program. They have a history of producing good players to go on and play Division-I and professional, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
