PZ - square(white)GAINESVILLE – Heading into the final week of the regular season, the Sunshine State continues to excel.

A total of seven Florida teams are ranked in the MaxPrep Xcellent 50 National Baseball Rankings, including the top two teams in the country (Orlando Olympia & Lake Worth Park Vista).  Both teams remained Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, in Class 8A of theprepzone.com state baseball poll.

The top-ranked Titans, the only unbeaten team in the state, improved to 21-0, while the Cobras, winners of 22 in a row, are 22-1.

Boca Raton, which finished second in 8A-District 10 behind Park Vista, remained third in the state rankings.  The Bobcats (18-2), who are also third in the all-classification rankings, are ranked 15th nationally.

Lynn Haven Mosley (21-2) is ranked 13th nationally, but they are second in the 5A state rankings behind Rockledge, winners of nine in a row. The Raiders (22-2), who are ranked 39th nationally, have lost two games by a total of just two runs.

Two other No. 1 ranked teams, 6A Winter Haven (20-3) & 7A Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas (17-4), are ranked 33rd & 49th nationally by MaxPreps.

Four additional teams are in the Perfect Game national rankings – #24 Oviedo, #32 Archbishop McCarthy, Haines City (46th) & Flanagan (50).
