GAINESVILLE — For the first time in two weeks, last Friday was a regular football Friday for the teams in The Prep Zone Power Poll.

And there were some interesting results, among them St. Augustine finding a way to beat rival Bartram Trail (St. Johns) for the 19th straight time.

The top-ranked team remains the same, as Trinity Christian (Jacksonville) easily won its fourth straight game, 35-0 over Palm Beach Lakes, and receives all eight first-place votes in the regional rankings this week.Trinity Christian

Robert E. Lee (Jacksonville) remains #2 in the latest poll. The Generals (4-0) were off last week.

Vanguard (Ocala) moves up one spot to 3rd after easily dispatching of District 5-6A rival South Lake (Groveland), 43-0. The Knights (4-0) have three shutouts in their first four games of 2017.

Madison County moves up three spots this week to #4. The Cowboys (5-0) rallied to beat 7A Columbia (Lake City), 42-28, and are also ranked #1 in Class 1A in the latest AP High School Football State Rankings.

Madison County hosts 5A Dunnellon this week. Dunnellon (4-0) is 12th after a 41-3 win at Trinity Catholic (Ocala) last week.

Rounding out the top five is St. Augustine, which moves up four slots this week after another dramatic 31-28 win over Bartram Trail.

The Yellow Jackets (3-0), who had been off the previous two weeks due to Hurricane Irma, scored 10 points in the final three and a half minutes, kicking a game-winning 37-yard field goal on the last play of the game. St. Augustine is now 19-0 all-time against their St. Johns County rival Bartram Trail.

The Bears (2-2) drop four spots this week to 7th after the St. Augustine loss.

Raines (Jacksonville) remains 6th as the Vikings (3-1) obliterated 8A Mandarin (Jacksonville), 55-28.

Defending 2A state champion University Christian (Jacksonville) moves up two spots to 8th this week after travelling to Clearwater and beating first-year program Superior Collegiate in a 63-44 shootout.

Also up four slots and moving into the top 10 is Fleming Island (Orange Park).

The Golden Eagles (5-0) suffered a tragedy as one of their student-athletes Ben Johnson, collapsed in the school weight room and was pronounced dead two days later, one day before Fleming Island was to play at another undefeated Clay County team in Ridgeview (Orange Park). The Golden Eagles rallied to win 28-20 at Ridgeview to stay unbeaten, also beating District 3-7A rival Buchholz (Gainesville) last week for two wins in five days.

Rounding out the top 10 is Bolles (Jacksonville). The Bulldogs (3-1) rebounded from their loss at top-ranked Trinity Christian the week before to pound Holy Trinity (Melbourne), 56-12.

Mainland (Daytona Beach), which had been in the top 10 all season and also in the top five earlier, fell out of the top 10 to 11th after losing for the second straight time. The Bucs (1-2) were shutout 20-0 by Dr. Phillips (Orlando), which is ranked #1 in the latest AP state poll for 8A.

Columbia (3-2) also dropped six spots out of the top 10 to 14th after losing two games in four days to #2 Lee and 4th-ranked Madison County. The Tigers host #1 Trinity Christian this Friday.
