Sonic Drive-In Player-of-the-Game for Sept. 24 – Jamarian Samuel (Trinity Catholic)

The Sonic Drive-In Player-of-the-Game for Thursday, September 24, was Jamarian Samuel of the Trinity Catholic (Ocala) football team.

Samuel accounted for four touchdowns as the visiting Celtics defeated Gainesville, 38-7, at Citizen’s Field.

The senior had the game-winning score with 5:01 to play in the second quarter on a 1-yard scoring run. On the drive, he had a 69-yard TD run called back because of penalty, but he still added a 33-yard run on the possession.

Following an interception by Joshua Jenkins, Samuel scored on a 25-yard TD run as the Celtics, who would get a 37-yard field goal from Alvaro Cebrian as the horn sounded at the end of the second quarter, took a 24-7 lead at halftime.

Samuel added a 3-yard touchdown run with 9:00 to play in the game and then threw a 24-yard TD pass to T.J. Snowden for the final score of the night.

He finished with 145 yards on 22 carries and 188 all-purpose yards.

Trinity Catholic (2-0) will host The Villages next Friday, Oct. 2.
