Sonic Drive-In Player-of-the-Game for Friday, March 12 – Darian Ingram (Trenton)

Published:

The Sonic Drive-In Player-of-the-Game for Friday, March 12, was Darian Ingram of the Trenton softball team.

Ingram picked up the win in the circle in a complete-game 3-1 win against visiting Dixie County (Cross City) on Friday night in front of a packed house at Trenton.

The senior pitcher allowed an unearned run on just four hits with four walks and 14 strikeouts. She also finished 2-for-3 at the plate.

Dixie County threatened in the top of the first, putting their first two batters on with no outs, but Ingram came back to strike out the side.

“Darian pitched great,” said Trenton coach Todd Bryant. “We knew that if she limited the walks that they weren’t going to hit her too much.”

It was the 43rd straight win for Trenton (6-0), while Dixie County (9-1) suffered its first loss of the season.

Every game The Prep Zone will recognize a Player-of-the-Game. The recipient receives a $10 gift certificate courtesy of Sonic Drive-In of Gainesville & Ocala.
