The Sonic Drive-In Player-of-the-Game for Friday, January 22, was Toni Davis of the Buchholz (Gainesville) girls basketball team.
Davis hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Buchholz a 37-34 win against visiting Trenton on Friday night.
The sophomore scored the only points of the quarter for the Bobcats (11-3), who won despite shooting 0-for-8 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter.
She finished with a team-high 18 points, including the game-winning shot to help the Bobcats overcome a 1-for-17 night at the free throw line. It was her fourth shot behind the arc, making one per quarter.
Jordan Douglas had just hit a three for Trenton (17-4) to tie the game at 34-34. The loss offset a game-high 19 points by the Lady Tigers’ Samarie McHenry.
