Sonic-logoOur Sonic Drive-In-Player-of-the-Game for Saturday, February 3 is Jaden Campbell of The Rock (Gainesville) boys’ basketball team.

The junior had a game-high 24 points and added 14 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals and was 10-11 at the free throws line as The Rock led wire-to-wire in a convincing 86-66 win over Nation Prep (Port St. Lucie).

The Lions pretty much put the game away in the first half, knocking down five three pointers and taking a 44-22 lead into halftime over a previously undefeated Nation Prep team.Jaden Campbell The Rock

Campbell scored 14 of his points in the first half, including a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line, and continued to shine in the second half, when he hit his only three-pointer of the game and again was solid from the charity stripe, going 6-for-7 as The Rock led by as many as 26 points before cruising home to the win.

The Rock improved to 22-7 with the win and made nine shots behind the arc for the game. Junior Bryan Greenlee added three three-pointers and ended up with 18 points to go along with 8 assists and six rebounds, and senior Antrell Charlton also hit three shots from distance and chipped in with 14 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals.

The Lions finish up a five-game home stand on Tuesday night against Inspire Prep Academy (Orlando). You can watch live video streaming of the game on The Prep Zone beginning at 6:45 p.m.
