Sonic Drive-In Player-of-the-Game for Dec. 1 – Ernest Ross (Santa Fe)

The Sonic Drive-In Player-of-the-Game for Tuesday, Dec. 1, was Ernest Ross of the Santa Fe (Alachua) boys basketball team.

Ross scored a game-high 31 points as the Raiders defeated Buchholz on the road in overtime, 76-69.

The North Carolina State signee scored 18 of those points after halftime as the Raiders (2-0) overcame a four-point halftime deficit and trailed by five, 46-41, after three quarters.

Sophomore Dontrell Jenkins added 22 points, including seven in overtime, while Ross had six in the extra period.

Santa Fe will host Newberry on Friday, while Buchholz (0-2) travels to St. Francis Catholic Academy on Thursday.
