In a Class 8A-District 1 battle for first place, Sandalwood (Jacksonville) lost to Mandarin, 52-29, and fell five spots from 14th to 19th in this week’s regional rankings.
Union County (Lake Butler) and Matanzas (Palm Coast) lost for the first time this season and dropped out of the rankings, although the Tigers (6-1) and Pirates (6-1) are still receiving votes in the poll.
