Trophy Shop Athlete-of-the-Week Presented by State Farm agent Mark McGriff

  • Week of October 21 is Austin Ritchey of the Bell football team. In a must-win Class 1A-District 6 game, the senior carried the ball 31 times for 330 yards and four touchdowns as the Bulldogs defeated Hilliard, 52-28. Bell, which can clinch its first state playoff berth in school history with a win at Hawthorne on Friday, got TD runs of 10 and 70 yards in the first half from Ritchey in building a 24-20 lead.

Sonic Player-of-the-Game

  • Friday, October 25, was Tony James of the Gainesville football team. The Oregon commit rushed for 203 yards and one touchdown on 22 carries as Gainesville defeated Citrus, 38-16, to win the Class 6A-District 5 championship. James scored on a 13-yard run in the second quarter as GHS built a 21-7 lead at the half.
