Oak Hall (3-1) at St. Francis Catholic (2-2) – Lots of story lines in this small school rivalry showdown from the westside of Gainesville.  It’s a North Florida Football Conference match-up; the visiting Eagles only won one game last year and one the previous year, but they’ve already won three in 2015; the Wolves have won two in a row since opening 0-2;  It’s Homecoming; plus, St. Francis Catholic coach Scott McDaniel was the head coach at Oak Hall last year

Oak Hall is 2-4 vs. St. Francis Catholic since 2009

2014 – St. Francis Catholic, 49-14
2013 – St. Francis Catholic, 44-21
2012 – Oak Hall, 17-14
2011 – Oak Hall, 37-0
2010 – St. Francis Catholic, 34-26
2009 – St. Francis Catholic, 20-14

Great battle at the QB position – Hoss Marino (St. Francis Catholic) vs. Matt Armstrong (Oak Hall). St. Francis Catholic has a slight edge up front (OL averages 265 pounds including 6’3, 350-pound sophomore Ike Walker at guard & DT);

One of the keys to victory according to McDaniel:  “We have to stop the run.”

The Wolves will also have to take care of the ball. They rallied to defeat St. Johns Country Day (Orange Park) on the road, 21-17, despite four turnovers. Marino had 33 carries for 189 yards in that game and scored the game-winning TD with 1:24 to play.
