Madison County (1A) & Raines (4A) repeat as football state champions

2018 FHSAA Football FinalsOn Thursday at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, the Madison County football team won the Class 1A state title with a 48-6 win against previously unbeaten Baker. It was the second consecutive state title for the Cowboys (13-1), who rushed for 358 yards on only 26 carries.

FSU commit Travis Jay had 167 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries and Vinsonta Allen also had 167 yards rushing and two touchdowns on a total of 10 carries as the Cowboys won back-to-back titles for the first time in school history.

Raines (Jacksonville) also repeated. The Vikings defeated Cocoa, 27-13, in a rematch of last year’s state championship, to win the 4A title.
