JOHN PAUL II (5-3) AT OAK HALL (9-0)

SCOUTING REPORT: This is a rematch of a game played about two weeks ago, on the same field, with the host Eagles winning 28-19. As champions of the North Division of the NFFC, the Panthers play the South Division champions, which happens to be Oak Hall. John Paul II was only the third team this season to challenge the Eagles, with independent Bishop McLaughlin Catholic of Spring Hill (14-13 win) and at St. Joseph Academy (28-19 win) the others. Oak Hall is led by senior Chase Trunnell, who has 799 yards rushing with 17 touchdowns, and 42 tackles with 15 for loss on defense. Junior QB Matt Armstrong has passed for 672 yards with 10 TDs and rushed for 474 yards and five scores. Sophomore WR Terrance Young has caught five passes, three for TDs. This is the second straight conference final for John Paul II, losing a year ago to St. Joseph Academy 10-0.

Eagles’ coach Matt DiBernardo and senior members of the Oak Hall football team were our guests on “The Prep Zone” at Sonic this past Monday, Nov. 7.  Click here for more info.
