Key Players: Jacob Luke (QB, Sr.), Jameaze McNeal (LB, Jr.), Rodderick Broomfield (DB, Sr.), Don Jeffers (TE/OLB, Sr.), Jarvis Desue (RB, Jr.)
Outlook: Green, a former coach at Hamilton County, took over for Steve Reynolds in June. His father is Danny Green, who spent time as head coach at Columbia (Lake City) and Orange Park, where the younger Green served as offensive coordinator for five seasons.
Despite only three wins last season, the Tornadoes were able to get into the postseason after a two-year hiatus, and they were only two points away from winning the district title. They lost to district champion Keystone Heights, 21-20, and will host the Indians in the district finale in 2014.
They lose UAB signee Kenny Dinkins, who led the Gainesville-area with 915 yards receiving and nine touchdowns, but Luke is back at quarterback. He threw for 1,383 yards and 14 TDs in 2013. The Tornadoes have some young receivers who are looking forward to their opportunity to shine. Desue is an experienced back who has had a lot of carries during his tenure.
