GAINESVILLE – The top team in the Prep Zone Power Poll is beginning to distance itself.

Williston (14-2) received all seven first-place votes and is 15 total voting points ahead of #2 Creekside (St. Johns). The Knights (12-2), ranked 4th in the state in Class 6A, remained second despite a loss to Fleming Island (Orange Park), which is tied for 16th.

Trinity Christian (Jacksonville), ranked fifth in the latest 4A state poll, moved up to spots to third. The Conquerors (12-4) are followed by Forest (Ocala) and University Christian (Jacksonville) in the top five.

Bolles (Jacksonville), which lost to nemesis Episcopal (Jacksonville), dropped three spots to sixth. The 4A Bulldogs (13-4) are followed by Buchholz (Gainesville), unbeaten St. Joseph, Umatilla and Bartram Trail (St. Johns) in the top 10.

The Flashes (11-0), who hadn’t been to the playoffs in 13 years before last season, are the only unbeaten team in the rankings and one of only four teams in the state with a perfect record.

Baker County (Glen St. Mary) dropped out of the rankings as Westside (Jacksonville) moved into the rankings for the first time. The Wolverines (12-2) have a pair of one-run losses and have won seven in a row.

Hernando (Brooksville), which is receiving votes in the 5A state baseball poll, also fell out of the rankings after losses to Zephyrhills and Bishop McLaughlin (Spring Hill).
