Gainesville – Creekside (St. Johns) remained on top of the softball Prep Zone Power Poll.

The Knights (13-1) received five of the seven first-place votes following a 3-0 week that included outscoring their opponents, 30-1. Creekside is currently ranked in the top 10 of the Miracle Sport’s All-classification statewide poll.

North Marion (Citra) is ranked No. 2, but they are only six total voting points behind the top-ranked Knights. In fact, the Colts (13-1), who received one first-place vote following a 3-0 week, are also ranked in the statewide all-classification top 10. Only a 1-0 loss to Belleview, currently ranked eighth, separates them from an unblemished record.

That perfection belongs to Bradford (Starke), which actually dropped one spot to third. The Class 4A Tornadoes (14-0) have posted four consecutive shutouts with 10 of their 14 victories coming in which they held the opposition scoreless.

St. Augustine suffered its first defeat of the season in a 5-3 loss to Sandalwood (Jacksonville) this past Monday, but the Yellow Jackets (14-1) remained fifth in this week’s poll.

Bishop Snyder (Jacksonville) (14-2) is ranked sixth, followed by PK Yonge (Gainesville) (15-2), Belleview (12-5), Atlantic Coast (Jacksonville) (12-2) and Baker County (Glen St. Mary) (14-1) in the top 10.

Half of the teams in the top 10 are in Class 5A.

The Prep Zone Power Poll ranks the top 20 high school football, basketball and baseball teams (regardless of FHSAA classification) across 26 counties in North Florida (Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Citrus, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Hernando, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lake, Levy, Marion, Nassau, Putnam, Sumter, St. Johns, Suwannee, Taylor, Union & Volusia counties).
