1. Mainland (Daytona Beach) (7) (6A) (5-0) – d. American Heritage (Plantation), 42-30; Class 6A #1-ranked Bucs rally from 30-28 halftime deficit to knock off Class 5A’s No. 2-ranked team

2. Trinity Christian (Jacksonville) (2) (3A) (2-1) – OFF; at Episcopal (Jacksonville) (Fri.)

3. First Coast (Jacksonville) (8A) (4-0) – d. Atlantic Coast (Jacksonville), 54-17; QB De’Andre Johnson passed Tim Tebow in career scoring passes with 7 TDs (100 career touchdown passes)

4. South Sumter (Bushnell) (5A) (5-0) – d. Central (Brooksville), 38-0; Class 5A No. 1 Raiders post their third shutout of the season

5. Clay (Green Cove Springs) (5A) (4-1) – LOST to 7A Oakleaf (Orange Park), 35-21; senior J.T. Turner had 150 yards on 15 carries in the loss for the defending 5A state runners-up, who get back to 5A-District 4 play this week against Ridgeview (Orange Park)

6. Fletcher (Neptune Beach) (7A) (3-1) – d. Creekside (St. Johns), 56-14; Senators had an interception return, a fumble return and a punt return for scores

7. St. Augustine (6A) (5-0) – d. Ponte Vedra, 35-14; Maurice Walden had two key interceptions, including a 98-yard pick six that gave the Yellow Jackets a 21-14 lead at the half instead of a deficit; Yellow Jackets stayed unbeaten and went to 1-0 in 6A-District 4

8. Trinity Catholic (Ocala) (3A) (3-1) – LOST to 3A #1 Clearwater Central Catholic, 45-42; Celtics, ranked 4th in 3A, had the top-ranked team on the ropes early with a 14-0 lead but a costly turnover on a kickoff in the 4th quarter prevented the Celtics from springing the upset; TC’s offense finished with 470 yards against the Marauders, who defeated them 38-14 the previous season

9. Columbia (Lake City) (6A) (4-1) – d. Englewood (Jacksonville), 58-0; Tigers have posted back-to-back shutouts and are currently in a 3-way tie at 2-0 in 6A-District 3 with RV Ed White and RV Lee

10. Bolles (Jacksonville) (4A) (4-1) – d. 6A Vanguard (Ocala), 35-6; Bulldogs were 6-of-12 on 3rd down, held a 21-8 edge in first downs, and they finished with 417 total yards; Dexter Carter, Jr., with a pair of TDs early

11. Dixie County (Cross City) (1A) (4-0) – OFF; at #15 Union County (Fri.)

12. University (Orange City) (8A) (5-0) – d. Hagerty (Oviedo), 23-21; according to the Daytona Beach News Journal, freshman running back Lorenzo Lingard will likely miss the remainder of the regular season with a broken collarbone. He had 655 yards on just 51 carries and had scored at least one touchdown in each of the team’s first five games; Titans are 5-0 for the first time in school history

13. Bishop Kenny (Jacksonville) (5A) (3-0) – d. Paxon (Jacksonville), 34-12; Zach Gushanas, over 100 yards for the second consecutive week, rushed for 171 yards and a pair of TDs; key game vs. Ribault (Jacksonville) this week in 5A-District 3

14. Suwannee (Live Oak) (5A) (4-0) – OFF; vs. Eastside (Gainesville) (Fri.)

15. Union County (Lake Butler) (1A) (4-1) – LOST to RV Hamilton County (Jasper), 31-21; Tigers had eight overall turnovers – three interceptions and five fumbles; host #11 Dixie County next in a key 1A-District 7 game

16. Trenton (1A) (4-1) – d. Cedar Creek Christian (Jacksonville), 38-12; Tigers outgained CCC in total yards, 252-43; they host co-district leader Hilliard on Friday in 1A-District 6

17. South Lake (Groveland) (6A) (5-0) – d. Eustis, 28-0

18. North Marion (Citra) (5A) (3-2) – d. Eastside (Gainesville), 52-12; Louisville commit James Allen (14 carries for 129 yards) led the way for a Colts’ ground game that finished with 274 yards and six touchdowns and averaged almost nine (8.6) yards per carry

19. Flagler Palm Coast (8A) (4-1) – d. New Smyrna Beach, 46-12; sophomore RB Queshaun Byrd scored three TDs for the Bulldogs, who capitalized on five turnovers; only loss to #12 University

20. Madison County (4A) (3-2) – LOST to Pace, 58-37; first district game coming up this Friday vs. Taylor County in 4A-District 2

Ed White (Jacksonville) (6A) (4-1) – d. Orange Park, 40-7; senior RB Taylor Thomas rushed for 233 yards, including two long scores, on 18 carries; junior Javonte Ferguson had two TDs in the first quarter

Providence (Jacksonville) (3A) (5-0) – d. Arlington Country Day (Jacksonville), 62-26; RB Jamauri Wakefield rushed for 160 yards and five TDs on 20 carries; Wakefield has over 100 yards in every game and now has 1,209 yards on the season

Raines (Jacksonville) (4A) (2-3) – LOST at Cocoa, 37-28; Ronald Patterson had TD catches of 37 and 65 yards in the loss; Raines has a win against Bolles but they’ve played a tough schedule; Vikings’ losses have been to 6A RV Northwestern (Miami), 8-7, and road losses at 8A No. 2 First Coast & 4A #3 Cocoa

Hamilton County (Jasper) (1A) (4-1) – d. #15 Union County (Lake Butler), 31-21; Trojans returned the opening kick for a TD and built a 24-7 lead; they held Tigers’ RB Antwan Durn to just 47 yards

Oakleaf (Orange Park) (7A) (5-0) – d. #5 Clay (Green Cove Springs), 35-21; Knights, who are 5-0 for the first time in school history, shutout the Blue Devils in the second half and got three rushing touchdowns from junior Keylan Brown

Lee (Jacksonville) (6A) (5-0) – d. Terry Parker (Jacksonville), 43-7; Generals stayed unbeaten behind its defense, which held the Braves to only 11 yards rushing in a Class 6A-District 3 game

On the bubble…

Mandarin (Jacksonville) (8A) (4-1) – d. Baldwin, 42-0; DeQuan Strickland, Aundre Kearney and Mekhi Jackson combined for 236 yards rushing; only loss for the Mustangs, who posted their second shutout, was to RV Ed White

Ribault (Jacksonville) (5A) (3-1) – d. Stanton (Jacksonville), 62-0; Trojans have won three straight since season-opening loss to #3 First Coast; they travel to #13 Bishop Kenny this week in a battle of 2-0 division leaders in 5A-District 3

Dunnellon (5A) (4-1) – d. Crystal River, 20-18; Zach West kicked a 21-yard FG with 15 seconds to play; Tigers might not be ready for the top 20 but keep them on your radar; Dunnellon has won four straight but the big tests are ahead – at #18 North Marion (10/10) & vs. #14 Suwannee (10/17)

Episcopal (Jacksonville) (3A) (4-0) – d. Trinity Prep (Winter Park), 21-19; like Dunnellon, another team probably not ready for the poll but we’ll find out what they have this week when they host No. 2 Trinity Christian
