JACKSONVILLE -- The Lakeland Dreadnaughts won the football game Friday night over George Jenkins (Lakeland) 78-0, but not without a costly price.
Lakeland remains #1 for the 25th straight week in the Beef 'O' Brady's Top 25, collecting all 15 first place votes. Miami Northwestern is a unanimous
#2. Both teams won convincingly Friday. Lakeland's win, however, could cost the Dreadnaughts.
Running back Jamar Taylor left the game with an ankle injury. Lakeland is off this week before closing out district play with Kissimmee Osceola on October 27.
Nease (St. Augustine) remained third behind the 'Naughts and Bulls. Pahokee stayed fourth while Bolles (Jacksonville) jumped from seventh to fifth
following Chaminade Madonna Prep's loss to Naples, 19-14. The Lions fell from fifth to 17th. Trinity Catholic (Ocala) stayed sixth and St. Augustine
moved from eighth to seventh, followed by Clewiston (up two spots from 10th), Armwood(Seffner) and Miami Washington.
The biggest mover was Godby (Tallahassee) which jumped from 20th to 15th following a convincing 33-7 win over previously unbeaten Wakulla. No new teams entered the Top 25, but Cocoa finished just one point behind Kathleen (Lakeland) which remained 25th.
