Dante Anderson

According to The Gainesville Sun, Eastside (Gainesville) High School had a facelift done to its gym, and as part of that, the school has included a Memorial Garden for Dante Anderson, the Rams' star basketball player who died in a car wreck on May 19, 2007. The boys and girls basketball teams planted flowers on Saturday, October 13 in honor of Anderson, one of The Sun's 2006-07 players of the year. Anderson, a 16-year-old junior who was considered one of the nation's most promising basketball guards, led the Rams to a state championship his sophomore season. He averaged 25 points, seven rebounds and four assists per game as a junior.
