Join Justin Ahlum (Play-by-play), Sarah Morton (Color) & Alex Lytle (Camera) for the first round of the FHSAA Class 2A state playoffs.  This is the Eagles’ first football playoff game since 1979.

Gainesville Sun preview:

Series: Since 2005, Trinity Christian leads 2-0; last met in 2006
What’s next: Winner will play at No. 1 Lakeland Victory Christian in next Friday’s regional semifinals
Preview: This is Oak Hall’s first playoff game since 1979. When Matt DiBernardo stepped down after fourth game of the season, RJ Fuhr took over as interim coach, leading Eagles to a 4-3 record. Freshman Cole Gonzales (703 yards, 10 TDs, 5 Int.), son of UF wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales, has been starting quarterback on the season for Oak Hall, with Ryan O’Leary (1,100 yards, 18 TDs) and Thomas George (397, 5 TDs) at running backs. Senior RB Jacob Mullee leads Trinity Christian, also known as the Eagles, with 1,124 yards rushing and 9 TDs.

Daytona Beach News-Journal preview:

About Trinity Christian: The Eagles have run the gauntlet over the last month, losing three of four, but all to Class 3A playoff qualifiers (Father Lopez, St. Joseph, Holy Trinity). Jacob Mullee has predominantly played quarterback for Trinity, but could line up as a running back if need be. He has rushed for 1,124 yards (five 100-yard games) with nine touchdowns. John Davila (906 all-purpose yards, 12 TD) can be a game-changer, and the defense has produced 18 sacks and 11 interceptions. The Eagles last reached the second round in 2010, so it would be a major accomplishment for first-year coach Troy Rayburn and his resurgent group to go on the road and get the win.
