live broadcastDate: Fri 10/14/2016, 7:15 p.m. (PREGAME COVERAGE)
Title: HS Football – Trenton at Newberry

Event Details: Join Daniel Gillman (Play-by-play) and Donald Taylor (Color) for this Class 1A-District 7 game.  The winner won’t clinch the district title, but would put itself in great position to do so.

The Panthers have been the surprise team in the area. They’ve beaten 4A Santa Fe on the road and 5A Eastside at home. They’ve also posted back-to-back district shutouts. They have a pair of DT’s who are headed to FSU – Cory Durden & J’len Parks who have combined for five sacks and 20 TFL. Jacquez Jernigan has 800 yards rushing and Jakahi Michem is averaging 9 yards per carry.

This could be for the district title in 1A-District 7. Both teams are ranked top five in the state in the Class 1A rankings. The No. 4 Panthers (6-0, 3-0) are one of just two unbeaten teams in the county (Oak Hall School 5-0).  But the visiting Tigers (4-1, 2-0), currently ranked third in the state rankings, are the defending 1A state champions and have not lost a road game since 2013 (Dixie County – which is also still alive in the district and will host Newberry on Oct. 21).
