Bronson Eagles (Class 1A-District 6)

2013 Record: 5-5

Head Coach: Cameron Porch

Key Players: Tyler Sistrunk (LB, Sr.), Montrez Jackson (RB, So.), Garry Mitchell (LB, So.), Zach Chemin (OL, Sr.), Michael Coughlin (OL, Sr.), Gavyn Thomas (TE, Sr.)

Outlook: The Eagles are finally senior heavy. It’s very tight knit according to the coaches and they preach family as a unit. Several new players have joined the program and they have a class of sophomores with a lot of promise so the program could be on the rise. One of the biggest reasons for optimism in 2014 is the returnees.

A total of 19 lettermen return, including seven starters on offense and eight on defense. They have experience on the offensive line with Chemin (6-3, 224) and Coughlin (5-11, 215), along with Thomas (6-3, 197) at tight end. Bronson’s strength on defense will be their two returning linebackers Sistrunk (92 tackles) and Mitchell (67 tackles).

“The dividends of our hard work started to pay off last year,” said Porch, who is entering his third season as head coach. “Now we want to carry that momentum over into 2014.”
